Albums!

Hello friends!

You’ve probably clicked this link because you love your wedding photos, and you’d like to do something awesome with them. Hooray!

You won’t regret making a wedding album. It’s your first heirloom as a family!

Do you remember looking through old family albums as a child? The ones with the puffy covers and sticky pages that always smelled funny? They made this very specific sound when you pulled back the plastic protector sleeves that I can still hear - a sense memory! Looking through these albums was one of my absolute favorite things to do as a little kid. (and is probably why I’m a photographer today!)

I was fascinated. Albums were like storybooks with characters I knew - people from my own family. I loved hearing stories about the people, the events that were being photographed - weddings, vacations, family reunions. A record of Halloween costumes and Christmas concerts. I got to see my parents as children, and hear funny stories about folks I’d never gotten to meet.

I learned so much about my family and myself exploring those photo albums. It’s a gift from my family that I’ll forever be grateful for.

I wish kids today got to experience that same lovely nostalgia, but looking at digital photos on a computer or phone screen isn’t the same. An album is something precious, a keepsake, something beautiful and physical to hold in your hands, something to be cherished.

An album is a gift not only for yourselves, but a story for future generations.

If you have other ideas ie) “we want lots of photos of grandma” or “we love dance floor photos and lots of candids with friends” just let me know. (If you don’t have any ideas, that’s okay too! You get a chance to see your album and change things around.)
