There's no more perfect place for summery family photos than your lake cabin - it's also where Shelley, Brian and their kids spend most of their summer, so I drove out to check out their little piece of paradise on Long Lake. These folks are really lucky to have such a perfect spot to spend balmy summer nights - it was beautiful and peaceful, and just so much fun!
Mother's day is coming up. Last year at this time, I spent a happy sunshine-y afternoon with Little Mr. Zane and his mom and grannies. Seriously, how cute is this guy in his little wookie PJs? He loves to play in the water, so that's what we did! I really love to take photos that show your child's character and interests!
Zane made his grandmas special flower pots as a mother's day gift with his handprint, I love that first photo in the wee slideshow above, Zane's hands, and Grandma's. So sweet. (Click through for more photos!)
This little family is a super special one, I'm glad we made some mother's day memories together!
I first met Deborah and Terry at their daughter Katrina's gorgeous wedding, and a few months later, we met again to do a special session!
These two sweethearts didn't have a professional wedding photographer at their wedding 30 years ago, so they commemorated their anniversary with some photos. And via this session, they graciously supported a fundraiser I was doing for the Edmonton Mennonite Newcomer's Center, supporting a special Syrian refugee family's journey to Canada.
The park we visited is right beside their home, and they spend a lot of time walking and exploring these trails. Deborah told me stories about how their kids grew up adventuring in these woods. I really love doing sessions in spots that are near and dear to people's hearts!
Running around with my camera in a sunshiney field filled with friendly horses is my idea of heaven.
Thanks, Caroline, for being a beautiful glowing model, and for the privilege of taking your maternity photos! Your dogs are amazing, and so is your super poser kitty cat (who you can see in the slideshow above, he just walked up and sat there like he knew he needed to be in that photo to make it perfect!) Hugs to you and your new baby girl!!!
Unbelievably, I photographed Candice and Brandon's wedding 12 YEARS AGO!!!!
Those 19 year olds in love I met way back then have 2 amazing, accomplished, and awesome sons who are also best friends! These photos really showcase how close these two little dudes are! And better yet, a baby girl is on the way! Super exciting times for this awesome family. It's so cool to watch families grow, and I feel so lucky I get to record these amazing milestones for them!
We spent an balmy evening hanging out at Elk Island Park this autumn! There are so many great photos from this session, but here's just a few of my faves!
